International
training
“How to manage your
emotions and relationships?”
Training for teachers
and youth workers
Time:
25.08-31.08.2022 in Tallinn
at Radisson Meriton Conference & Spa Hotel
Have you ever wondered that we are taught physics
and math at school but not how to manage our relations or how to solve
conflicts? Research confirms that
these are the necessary 21st century skills that are usually not consciously
developed in youth centers, school programs or by parents. The training “How to manage your emotions and
relationships” designed to learn modern communication, cooperation, and
self-management skills and to pass this knowledge on to young people by using
innovative materials like films and interactive methods.
The aim of the training is to increase the competences of teachers
and youth workers in teaching young people communication, problem-solving and
cooperation skills through various teaching methodologies and materials.
Details of the training
What is learned and how?
Both personal skills (how to manage one’s feelings, how to think
in difficult situations) and communication skills (giving negative feedback in
a non-judgmental way, clear self-expression, conflict prevention and
resolution, coping with other people’s emotions, etc.) are learned. The
training is built on practice: participants learn new skills themselves and
practice a number of effective techniques to pass on this knowledge and skills
to young people based on their own experience.
We have created tools (educational films, descriptions of
activities, group work, games, elective modules for schools and materials for
classroom lessons, including lesson plans) to develop young people’s
communication skills. With the help of young people themselves, materials have
been developed for youth workers and teachers to develop young people’s
communication and collaboration skills through informal learning.
In the structure of the study materials, emphasis is placed on
analysis, discussion, role play, group work, practical tasks, critical analysis
of information and cases, etc. The structure of the material is innovative,
based on the latest knowledge about the functioning of people and groups, it
contains knowledge from neuroscience and is based on the involvement of young
people in both content creation and implementation.
We will introduce educational films and written materials for
youth workers and teachers to improve young people’s communication and
cooperation skills. These materials can be used by both young people and
adults, and after the training, all participants will have free access to
these films and materials.

school specialists from Estonia and Italy to participate.
